7 Easy Ways To Save Money On Your Cinema Tickets in the UK. There's something about cinemas that just makes us love it! Maybe it's the gooey nacho cheese me and my friend always scream about, their tango blast or most importantly the experience, here are some of my tips on how to save money on your tickets.

1. Meerkat 2for1 Movies

As mentioned in my previous blog! I have always been a fan of Meerkat Movies as a member you are entitled to 2 for 1 cinema tickets every Tuesday or Wednesday for a whole year at a number or cinemas. You also get 2 for 1 meals at various restaurants plus other perks.

How do I redeem it?

When you purchase your cinema tickets you can show the cashier your Meerkat movies code or QR code. If you pre-book remember to mention you're a meerkat movies member. Remember your code will only be active for a few days but you can easily generate a new one.

2. Phone Rewards APP

Surprisingly enough some customers are entitled to ticket deals via their phone rewards app. As a 5-year + Vodafone customer, I have had access to exclusive cinema tickets via my VeryMe app where you can claim two adult Vue cinema tickets for £7 every week. Phone loyalty schemes will offer a variety of deals be sure to check.

How to redeem it if your a Vodafone customer?

1. Must be a customer of the provider e.g. Vodafone or VOXI customer

2. Download the app via the Apple store or Google Play Store

3. Simply open the app, click on VeryMe Rewards and claim the Vue offer.

4. Use your VeryMe Rewards code to buy your Vue e-codes online or use them at a participating Vue location.

In line with government guidelines, Cinemas codes will now be valid for 30 days instead of seven days – to make sure that customers have plenty of time to book their screening as there will be a limit on entry numbers.

3.Off Peak Times

This is actually so true! If you've every tried to book tickets online you will spot different prices for seating areas and the time of the movie screening. Peak time is generally referred to after 5PM meaning tickets would be more expensive as there would be a flock of people probably finishing work and ready to enjoy their evening. However, off peak times usually offer cheaper tickets saving you roughly £2.

4. Bring Your Own Snacks

Yes it's a myth guys! Cinemas such as Odeon, Cineworld and Vue have confirmed that you can bring your own snacks and non alcoholic drinks to the cinema. No more sneaking around and it most importantly it can save you money! There is a strict 'no hot food or alcohol policy' though no smelly foods!.

5. Check Your Employee Perks

You can check if your company offers employee perks and benefits. There's a good chance the company you work for have signed up to memberships such as, Perkbox, Perkpal and My Benefits World who can offer a number of perks and savings. These memberships include a saving of up to 40% off cinema tickets with Cinema Discounts - woohoo!

Also, if your actually employed by a cinema company you are bound to receive some perks or even free tickets!

6. Check Deals of The Day

Some cinemas will actually offer their own exclusive deals of the day on certain days. For example, prior to lockdown Vue was offering a "Super Monday" discount which meant you could buy tickets for £3.99 at selected cinemas or £4.99 in London. My friend and I made the most of this offer when we were younger OMG!

Also, sites such as Groupon and Wowcher also offer big savings on cinema tickets. I came across 2 tickets and a medium popcorn for £5 on Wowcher, an absolute bargain! Remember to always double-check your cinema is included or the film you wish to watch is included prior to purchasing.

8. Join Preview Memberships

This sounds so cool and intriguing. You can get offered free or cheap tickets for upcoming releases and watch the movies before anyone else. E4 Big Screen Previews offers free film previews for 16-25-year-olds. Please read the terms and conditions. Films for free before anyone else at selected Cineworld cinemas throughout the UK.
